< > Oystercatchers Feeding - Covesea

Oystercatchers can live for up to forty years. Recently there has been a decline in the population of the birds in Scotland and they are now classed as 'vulnerable' in Scotland and 'Amber listed' in the UK overall. Most UK birds winter by the sea where they can be joined by birds from Norway and Iceland. This small group were working an incoming tide after sunset and feeding on little clams.
